Management and Treatment of Severe Eating Disorders in Adults in General Psychiatric Practice

Learning objectives focuses on lifespan aspects of OCD, such that participants will be able to:

  1. Describe consensus treatment guideline recommendations to inform psychiatric and medical management of anorexia nervosa (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN) in a general outpatient psychiatric practice.
  2. Assess AN and BN symptoms and illness sequelae of physical health, to determine needed interventions from harm reduction to treatment for recovery.
  3. Incorporate clinical principles and techniques of evidence-based psychotherapies along with dietary recommendations, for AN and BN patients.
