August 2021 Update from the Department of Psychiatry Research and Scholarly Activity Committee

Hello from the Department’s Research and Scholarly Activity Committee! We’re pleased to provide you with our Summer 2021 quarterly update.

Residents, for your information if you’re submitting either your project abstract or your final report, the Fall committee meeting dates are October 5th 2021 (*note change of date) and November 25th 2021 . The committee requires one week in advance of the meeting to conduct a thorough review of all the documents, so the deadlines for submissions are September 28th and November 18th, respectively.

New documents to support scholarly activity have been added to the department website here: https://psychiatry.ubc.ca/education-programs/postgraduate-education-scholarly-activity/scholarlyactivity-project/ - these include example scholarly activity abstracts produced by committee member Dr. Donna Lang.

Faculty, we have a resident looking for a supervisor in the area of weight bias/stigmatization and/or compassion-focused obesity care. Please contact Dr. Erin Michalak, Associate Program Director, Scholarly Activity, via erin.michalak@ubc.ca if you’d be interested in supervising in this area.

Warm wishes,
