Research and Scholarly Activity Committee

 

The Research and Scholarly Activity Committee is responsible for ensuring that our department’s residency program meets Royal College training objectives for research and scholarly activity. Specific responsibilities include the identification, development, enhancement, promotion, monitoring and evaluation of resident scholarly activity projects, and ensuring that objectives relating to research and scholarly activity are integrated throughout the educational program.

2022 Committee Meeting Dates for review of resident abstract and final report submissions

Please note that the document submission deadline is one week before the committee meeting date.

Meeting 1: Feb 17, 2022 (submission deadline Feb 10)
Meeting 2: April 21, 2022 (submission deadline Apr 14)
Meeting 3: Sept 22, 2022 (submission deadline Sept 15)
Meeting 4: Nov 17, 2022 (submission deadline Nov 10)

April 2022 Update: Annual Resident Publication and Presentation Record (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022)

As part of the Accreditation Standards, the Program is required to collect all your publication and presentation records annually. These records are also used to help inform decisions about annual resident research awards. Your publication and presentation record may include:

  • Peer-Reviewed Publications
  • Non peer-reviewed Publications (e.g., commentaries, book chapters)
  • Presentations (e.g., oral or poster conference presentation, grand rounds)

The Research and Scholarly Activity Committee is responsible for ensuring that our department’s residency program meets Royal College training objectives for research and scholarly activity. Specific responsibilities include the identification, development, enhancement, promotion, monitoring and evaluation of resident scholarly activity projects, and ensuring that objectives relating to research and scholarly activity are integrated throughout our educational program. The committee meets quarterly, at which time resident submissions of their project abstract submissions and final scholarly activity reports are reviewed.
