Master of Health Science in Psychiatry

The UBC Department of Psychiatry, in collaboration with the UBC School of Population and Public Health will be offering a Master of Health Science (MHSc) in Psychiatry degree program starting in September 2023. This is a professional degree tailored for residents, fellows, and practicing physicians from any part of the world who want further academic skills training in clinical and epidemiological research methodology with a focus on psychiatry studies.

The MHSc in Psychiatry program consists of 30 credits of courses and electives that can be completed in 1 year (full-time) or 2 years (part-time). Students will be required to complete a research project for publication as a major paper under the supervision of a member of the academic faculty of the UBC Department of Psychiatry. Eligibility for the MHSc in Psychiatry includes an MD or equivalent degree. Detailed information on the admission process will be made available early in 2023.
