**Shared on behalf of Dr. Randall White, Head, Adult Psychiatry and Mental Health Services Division**
Dear Colleagues,
The Departmental Divisions include a collection of 10 Programs that represent organizational units where members share common interests and expertise, while fostering collaborative leadership across our distributed sites. At present, the Division of Adult Psychiatry and Mental Health Services comprises four Programs:
- Social and Cultural Psychiatry
- Psychotherapy
- Schizophrenia
- Reproductive Psychiatry
However, we do not currently have an Emergency Psychiatry Program. Therefore, Departmental leadership has identified emergency psychiatry as a strategic priority given the importance of this clinical activity at our hospitals and training programs. The first step towards creating the Program is to identify two Co-Heads from our clinical faculty who have relevant clinical practice and who are interested in leadership, teaching and possibly research in the field.
If this profile describes you or a colleague you know, please reach out to me directly with expressions of interest at randall.white@ubc.ca. I invite you to join us in forming an Emergency Psychiatry Program to promote academic excellence in acute adult psychiatry.
As always, Department members are encouraged to participate in programs aligned with their interests and expertise and are welcome to join multiple programs. You can explore the structure of the Divisions and Programs on our Departmental Sites, Divisions & Programs webpage and may register for a program by completing the programs sign up form.
Sincerely,
Randall F. White, MD, FRCPC, FCPA, DLFAPA
Clinical Professor, UBC Department of Psychiatry
Division Head, Adult Psychiatry and Mental Health Services
