Candida was born in the South East of England. After an early childhood in Europe she returned to Sussex. She attended Leicester University Medical School.
She started her residency program in Conventry and Warwickshire, UK and then moved to complete her senior residency at the South London & Maudsley NHS trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, London.
She has held consultant positions at the South London & Maudsley Hospitals and the Wolfson Centre for Age-Related Diseases, King’s College London. She has been an Honorary Senior Lecturer and Visiting Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, London.
She successfully completed her Royal College of Psychiatrist Examinations in 1995 and has been a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK since. She is a dual trained (European Specialist Certification) in General adult psychiatry and psychiatry for older adults.Dr. Graham has academic certification with the Royal Canadian College of Physicians and Surgeons.
She has a Masters in medical Science (Birmingham University) and a Masters of Arts in Academic Practice (King’s Learning Institute, King’s College London). She has been a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK since 2007.
She relocated to Prince George with her family in 2007, excited by the opportunities to contribute to a growing medical program, serve an under-served population and build research capacity within the fields of medical education and psychiatry.
She is currently Clinical Associate Professor in Psychiatry at UBC, Specialist Psychiatrist for Older Adults at UHNBC and Medical Lead for Mental Health and Addictions, Northern Health. Until recently she was Residency Program Lead for Prince George, seeing the first two residents in Psychiatry through the three years of the UBC program based here in Prince George. She has also been involved in a number of provincial initiatives looking at care of seniors.
