Majid Desouki



Dr. Majid Al Desouki obtained both the Saudi and Arab Board degrees in Psychiatry, with honors, in 2008.  Throughout his training, he had the opportunity to work extensively in different treatment settings with various client bases. His experience includes concentrated exposure to acute chronic addiction and mental health issues throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Recently, his contributions at the Riyadh Military Hospital an the King Saud University involved not only the provision of comprehensive clinical care within multi-disciplinary teams, but it also actively involved teaching activities, continuous medical education and the development of policy and procedures.

Dr. Al Desouki came to Vancouver in April of 2011 as a Fellow with the department of psychiatry at the University of British Columbia.  Here, he has the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research around addictions, homelessness and trauma.  He has also had the pleasure of working at the Burnaby Centre for Medical Health and Addictions, which is a tertiary treatment centre that deals with some of the most complex concurrent disorders in British Columbia.
