2020 UBC PSYCHIATRY VIRTUAL RESEARCH DAY

We are pleased to announce that the 2020 UBC Psychiatry VIRTUAL Research Day will take place via Zoom on Thursday October 15th 2020!

In previous years, the UBC Psychiatry Annual Research Day provided an opportunity for Department members from across various sites, disciplines and experience levels to listen, learn, network, and interact.

With social distancing measures still in place, the Department’s first ever virtual Research Day event will aim to bring Department members together online, and showcase all the exciting and innovative research being conducted across Department.

Call for Abstracts – NOW OPEN!

At this time, we invite faculty, residents, fellows, students and trainees who wish to present their work on Research Day to submit their abstracts using the online Abstract Submission Form by Friday September 18th.

 

 

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

    • Your abstract must include a descriptive title, and all authors and their affiliated institutions
    • The body of your abstract should not exceed 250 words, and should include:
      • Research Objectives
      • Methods
      • Results
      • Conclusions
    • Go to the online Abstract Submission Form and upload a copy of your abstract as a single PDF file by September 11th

 

ELECTRONIC POSTERS

Participants must also submit their electronic posters in PowerPoint format to Lilla Berry at psychiatry.headasst@ubc.ca by Wednesday September 30th.

 

E-POSTER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Your electronic poster must be in PowerPoint, for presentation on the online poster gallery and voting
  • ePoster Templates: UBC has developed a template for ePosters in PowerPoint format, which you are free to use. Simply add your text, images and graphs into these templates to create and customize your ePoster:
  • Please send your ePoster to Lilla Berry at psychiatry.headasst@ubc.ca by September 30th. If you have a brief audio file you would like to include, please also submit this with your ePoster. Further information and instructions regarding audio files will be posted soon on the UBC Psychiatry Research Day web page.
  • If you want to learn more about how to best present your ePoster online, be sure to register here for the Online Poster Presentations: What, How, Why?” webinar on Thursday September 16th @ 2-3:30pm, hosted by the BC Support Unit.

LIGHTNING TALK PRESENTATIONS

  • Lighting Talk Presentations are short 5-minute presentations (usually 3.5 minutes of speaking, plus 1.5 minutes for questions). Click here to learn more.
  • Please indicate on the Abstract Submission Form if, in addition to presenting an ePoster, you wish to be considered to present a Lightning Talk during our Virtual Research Day.
  • If selected for a Lightning Talk Presentation, the presenter must also prepare a brief PowerPoint presentation with a maximum of 5 slides. Please submit Lightning Talk slides to psychiatry.headasst@ubc.ca by the September 30th deadline.
