2022 UBC Psychiatry Annual Research Day

 

We are pleased to announce that the 2022 UBC Psychiatry Research Day will take place in person and online on Thursday June 9, 2022!

Our annual Research Day provides an opportunity for Department members from across various sites, disciplines and experience levels to network, engage, and learn about all the exciting and innovative research taking place in our community and beyond.

WHEN: Thursday June 9, 2022 from 8:45am to 4:00pm

WHERE: West Atrium / Lecture Theatre 1 at UBC Life Sciences Centre (2350 Health Sciences Mall) on UBC Campus

FORMAT: In-Person / Zoom

Those who are in remote locations and/or are not able to join in person will now be able to attend all presentations virtually via Zoom! Please follow the instructions below:

Step 1: Open https://ubc.zoom.us/ and click on ‘Join a Meeting’.
Step 2: Enter the Zoom Meeting ID 96335 219366 then click ‘Join.’
Step 3: If you have the Zoom client click ‘Open Zoom Meetings,’ otherwise, click ‘join from your browser.’
Step 4: Enter the 219366 in the passcode field then click ‘Join Meeting.’

If you are planning to attend the 2022 UBC Psychiatry Research Day either in person or via Zoom on Thursday June 9th, be sure to register by completing the online Attendee Registration Form by Sunday May 15th, 2022! Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email containing the Slido Event Code for voting (and Q&A, if attending virtually).

*Please note that in-person attendees must pre-order their lunch option by May 15th using the Attendee Registration Form. Those who do not register will not be guaranteed to receive lunch.

** Unfortunately, lunch will only be provided for in-person attendees. The event cannot cover lunch for those attending via Zoom.

**IN-PERSON POSTER / LIGHTNING TALK PRESENTATIONS:

**The Research Day co-chairs will make the selections for Lightning Talk Presentations and In-Person Poster Presentations, and will notify the individuals selected in early May. If your abstract is selected for an In-Person Poster:
      • You must attend Research Day in person and also prepare a poster that will fit within the dimensions of a standard poster (UBC horizontal poster template is 48" x 36")
      • If you would like to be considered for an In-Person Poster Presentation, please indicate as such in the Abstract Submission Form.
If your abstract is selected for a Lighting Talk Presentation:
      • You must attend in person and prepare a short 5-minute PowerPoint presentation (usually 3.5 minutes of speaking plus 1.5 minutes for questions) with 4 slides maximum ( 1 cover slide + 3 presentation slides).
      • If you would like to be considered for a Lightning Talk Presentation, please indicate as such on the Abstract Submission Form.
      • Those selected for a Lightning Talk Presentation may also submit an ePoster if they choose, or may opt out.

Don't forget to submit your ePoster by Sunday May 15, 2022!

Everyone who has submitted an abstract will be eligible to present a poster on our Online ePoster Gallery (unless otherwise notified; all abstracts will undergo review).

ePOSTER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

      • Your electronic poster must be in PowerPoint, for presentation on the online poster gallery
      • ePoster Templates: UBC has developed a template for ePosters in PowerPoint format, which you are free to use. Simply add your text, images and graphs into these templates to create and customize your ePoster:
      • Adding an audio file to your ePoster:
        • Your audio file should not exceed 2 minutes
        • Ensure that a Sound icon is clearly visible in your ePoster
        • For instructions on how to add audio to your ePoster in Powerpoint, click here
      • Please submit your ePoster as a single Powerpoint file using the online ePOSTER SUBMISSION FORM by Sunday May 15th, 2022 (11:59pm).

We are inviting abstracts from those interested in presenting an ePoster on the Virtual ePoster Gallery, or if selected, for In-person Posters or the Lightning Talks.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Complete and upload a copy of your abstract as a single PDF file to the online ABSTRACT SUBMISSION FORM by Friday April 22nd, 2022.

ABSTRACT REQUIREMENTS:

      • A descriptive title
      • All authors and their affiliated institutions
      • Funding source (if applicable)
      • Must include the following elements: Research Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions
      • The body of your abstract must NOT exceed 300 words
