Dear Department members,
I am pleased to share that, with additional resources made available from FoM PGME, we have created a new administrative support position that will assist our Education staff in managing the increased tasks and responsibilities related to the Competence by Design (CBD) curriculum. As recruitment for this position has been completed, we are delighted to welcome Ms. Aseil Eljallad who has joined the UBC Department of Psychiatry Administration Team as Senior Program Assistant as of September 22. Aseil brings extensive experience in medical education support to the role, having worked with UBC’s Department of Urologic Sciences for the past 6 years as a Department Administrative Assistant, supporting faculty and residents across a variety of programs.
As a new Senior Program Assistant, Aseil will work with the Competence by Design (CBD) faculty lead to plan and organize CBD workshops, presentations and events for the Department PGME Programs. She will also be responsible for organizing and coordinating meetings for the Competency Committee, Scholarly Activity Committee, and other related committees; providing administrative support to resident semi-annual reviews and placement planning; and supporting the PGE management team with event planning throughout the year.
When on-site, Aseil will be situated at the Education Office on the 11th floor at VGH Diamond Health Care Centre. She may be reached by email at aseil.eljallad@ubc.ca.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Aseil to the Department!
Sincerely,
Margaret Koshi
