Take 3 minutes to complete the UBC census

Dear colleagues,

Please complete the updated 2025 Employment Equity Census. It takes only 3 minutes and is confidential. Even if you select “I choose note to disclose,” it still counts. If you previously completed the census, please retake this updated version.

Why participate?

  • Ensure you are accurately represented in UBC’s workforce equity data.
  • Help improve fairness in hiring and promotion practices.
  • Help inform the development of workplace programs aimed at encouraging employees to continue their careers at UBC.
  • Support university’s access to federal government funding programs and compliance.

To date, 89 per cent of UBC employees have already completed a version of the census. Please complete yours so we can improve our unit’s own response rate and help UBC reach 93 per cent.

Please note that you will be directed to UBC Workday to complete the survey using your Campus-wide Login (CWL). The information you provide is confidential and only reported anonymously. No one in our team or HR will see your personal answers. Only group totals are shared. If you can’t access Workday or need an alternative way to complete the census, please email datateam@equity.ubc.ca.

What is employment equity?

Employment equity means making sure everyone has a fair chance at work. It helps UBC see if some groups of people face barriers in hiring, promotions or other parts of work life. By collecting this information, UBC and our unit can make changes to create a fairer and more supportive workplace for everyone.

Thank you for taking part,

Sincerely,
