Short Biography

Dr. Randall White has been a clinical faculty member in the UBC Department of Psychiatry since 2007, and was appointed as Division Head for Division Head for Adult Psychiatry & Mental Health Services in June 2023. In this role, Dr. White is responsible for providing overall direction to the Division, leading and working in collaboration with its members to develop and implement academic goals, objectives and long-range plans to meet the strategic goals and mission of the Division, the UBC Department of Psychiatry and the UBC Faculty of Medicine.

As a member of our clinical faculty, he participates actively in supervising medical students and residents, and delivers academic day seminars and other lectures on a wide range of topics such as Psychosis Clinical Decision Making, Preparation for Medical Practice, Psychotic Disorders in DSM 5, and Treatment Resistant Psychosis. As well, he has served as co-chair of an annual psychopharmacology conference, has produced CME for UBC CPD and Medscape.com, and is the recipient of numerous teaching awards and honours.

Clinical Focus

Dr. White also serves as the Medical Director for Vancouver Community Mental Health and Substance Use Services, and the Clinical Director for the BC Psychosis Program at UBC Hospital. His clinical and research interests lie in the management of treatment-resistant psychotic disorders.
