Research and Interests

Erin Burrell has been in practice since 2012, after training in the UBC Psychiatry postgraduate program. She is currently a candidate with the Western Psychoanalytic Society Institute (wbcps.org). She focuses clinical practice on collaborative care with family physicians, emergency psychiatry, and psychotherapy. Psychotherapy interests include psychoanalysis, mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and ACT. She has published competency guidelines for psychiatrists training in mindfulness-based therapies (https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007%2Fs40596-017-0721-5.pdf).
