Research Data Management I: The Basics and Data Management Plans

This one-hour hands-on workshop will provide an overview of data management basics and the components of a good Data Management Plan (DMP), and will introduce the DMP Assistant – an online (and UBC-customized) Canadian software tool for crafting Data Management Plans for the TriAgencies and other funders. Research Data Management II: Data-Deposits and Finding Data
June 6, 2024, 4:00pm – 5:00pm PT

Are you creating or managing research data and want to make it publicly accessible? The 1st half of this session will cover Borealis, the Canadian Dataverse Repository. We will practice depositing research data and review issues such as controlled vocabularies (e.g. MeSH), ORCIDs, metadata, and data dictionaries and README files. The 2nd half of this session will focus on finding and accessing existing data and statistics related to mental health. Read more.
