Research and Interests
His interests include psychotherapy training, psychotherapy supervision, and individual psychotherapy for adults.
With Department of Psychiatry colleagues, Dr. Weideman has been involved in the study of complicated grief, including its prevalence, the effectiveness of contrasting group therapy approaches, and related questions.
Dr. Weideman received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from UBC in 1983. He is a registered psychologist in BC. Previously, he served as the Coordinator of the Outpatient Psychiatry Program at Vancouver General Hospital and then as the Director of the Clinical Psychology Centre at Simon Fraser University. He now provides psychotherapy for adults and is active as a member of the Psychotherapy Program in the UBC Department of Psychiatry.
