The UBC Department of Psychiatry, in collaboration with the UBC School of Population and Public Health, offers a Master of Health Science (MHSc) degree with a focus on Psychiatry.
The MHSc is a professional degree tailored for residents, fellows, and practicing physicians from any part of the world who want further academic skills training in clinical and epidemiological research methodology. A focus on psychiatry studies is available through the completion of two psychiatry-specific electives and an original scholarly project.
Program Highlights

- The MHSc degree program consists of 30 credits of courses and electives that can be completed in 1 year (full-time) or 2 years (part-time).
- Students completing the focus on Psychiatry will be required to complete a scholarly project as a major paper suitable for publication, under the supervision of an approved faculty member of the UBC Department of Psychiatry.
- Eligibility for the MHSc includes an MD or equivalent degreee.
